Digital Locks

Integration with Kaba Mas © and Sargent & Greenleaf © software to retrieve, encrypt and safely transmit lock/route combinations to field crews and dispatchers. Reduced telephone calls to dispatch center, retained electronic history of lock access, reduced paperwork.

Overview of the requirement:

1. Provide the ability to seamlessly retrieve combinations from a variety of lock technologies, including: Kaba Mas (formerly Mas Hamilton), Sargent & Greenleaf and traditional spin locks stored encrypted in a SQL database.
2. Allow crews to request their route sheet from a kiosk including combinations from all lock types, rather than obtaining a comb sheet from the individual systems independently.
3. Allow for the transmission of close codes (Kaba Mas only).
4. Solution had to work with both VB6 COM+ application and new Microsoft .Net applications.
5. Must be able to access lock databases stored in various remote locations from a single access point.

Description of the solution:

Custom configurable .Net remoting software installed on local servers where digital lock databases reside. Central location accessing the locks points to remote locations so all locks in all locations can be accessed from a single point. User does not need to worry about the type of lock - the system knows the technology and location of each lock and accesses the appropriate database. Each system can still operate independently from the others. Service dispatchers can transmit combs to crews with the click of a button without having to remote into other servers at different sites to access the correct lock database.
